Chris Sherman is President of Island Creek Oysters, a Duxbury, Massachusetts based shellfish farm and distributor started in 1992 by Skip Bennett.  Island Creek now sells over eleven million oysters annually through their e-commerce site, Duxbury retail store, and to 600 of the country’s best restaurants including five of their own properties here in New England.

He sits on the board of East Coast Shellfish Growers Association.  In 2016, Chris joined the board of Denny Land and Cattle Company and Goose Valley Wild Rice—a large ranching and farming business based in California. Most recently, Chris was selected as a 2018 USA Eisenhower Fellow and will be traveling to Spain and Colombia to research aquaculture development.

Prior to joining Island Creek, Chris sailed professionally and worked in marketing and construction management for superyacht design firm, Fontaine Design Group in Newport, RI and Friendship Yachts in Whangarei, New Zealand.  He has a B.A. in English from Williams College.
